Welcome to UE's Annual Giving

Why is it important to give to the annual fund, even if you have made other restricted gifts to UE?

UE depends on the Annual Fund to balance yearly operating costs. Tuition covers less than 90% of the actual cost of educating each student, and gifts to the Annual Fund help make up the difference. Therefore, the Annual Fund is the foundation of all giving to the college and provides assistance to every student on campus.

By making your 2011-2012 Annual Fund gift now, you will be part of the larger group of alumni, parents and friends who contribute each year and help open doors for University of Evansville students.

Why don't all gifts count toward the annual fund?

The Annual Fund consists of unrestricted gifts to UE that support the yearly operating budget. A gift made to support a restricted project, such as a particular scholarship fund or a capital project, cannot be used in the operating budget of the college.

"It has been said that "we do not remember days; we remember moments". While you might not remember each day you spent at the University of Evansville, I am sure there are moments that you treasure. Your gift to the 2011-2012 Alumni Scholarship Fund will allow current UE students the chance to create their own special moments like the ones you carry with you even now!"
- Robin Greenlee, Director of Annual Giving

How can I give to the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is a critical component of the University of Evansville's annual fundraising efforts. It is an unrestricted fund that enables UE to provide resources to those areas where the need is greatest. Annual Fund gifts have an impact on every student, as resources from this area go into numerous funds.

Gifts of ANY and ALL sizes from alumni, parents and friends are critical to the University of Evansville's current and future success as a top liberal arts college. The core purpose of the University of Evansville is to provide life transforming educational experiences that prepare students to engage the world as informed, ethical, and productive citizens. Giving to UE helps make that purpose a reality.

What makes up the annual fund?

What are the tax advantages of a gift to UE?

Another great reason for Indiana residents to give to UE is the "Indiana College Credit." Alumni, parents, and friends who file an Indiana state income tax return and make gifts to UE are eligible for a tax credit. The tax credit is equal to 50 percent of the donor's contribution, and cannot exceed $100 on an individual/single return or $200 on a joint return. You must have a CC-40 Form to receive the credit; download a CC-40 here.

Here is an example of how the Indiana refund works:

Joint Return
Donor's Gift State Tax Credit Donor's Cost
$50 $25 $25
$100 $50 $50
$200 $100 $100
$400 $200 $200
Individual/Single Return
$25 $12.50 $12.50
$50 $25 $25
$100 $50 $50
$200 $100 $100
