Matching Gifts
Many companies set aside philanthropic dollars for
higher education and allocate those funds through matching gift programs.
These programs allow employees, and sometimes retirees and directors of
the company, to make a contribution to an institution which is then
matched by their company. Matching levels vary from one company to
another, but regardless of the match percentage, these gifts represent a
significant source of funds for scholarships and grants for University of Evansville students.
Although procedures for matching gift programs vary,
matching gift forms are usually obtained through the employer's human
resource office. The employee sends the signed form with a check made
payable to University
of Evansville. The
rest is handled by the University and the employer.
